Welcome — please make yourself at home. So glad you dropped by. I’d offer you a cookie, but I can’t. For obvious reasons.

I’m Ashley Lindstrom (but Ash will do fine), and this blog is an outgrowth of my former screens & tech column of the same title at the San Antonio Current, my hometown alternative newsweekly. I recently graduated with an MA in Arts Journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School. At present, I’m a freelance writer and a contributing editor to the feminist blog  Zelda Lily.

What my gut has been telling me — and what my mentors have affirmed — is that now is the age of the curator-critic. Therefore, you will find here not only the snarky arts/entertainment/technology/media-policing commentary you have come to expect from Critical Darling, but a smattering of videos, etc., that reflect my personal aesthetic, which favors the whimsical, the nerdy, and the pro-woman.
